Sr. Vice President of Operations & Programs

With more than 15 years of commitment to the organization, Tonya has been instrumental in strengthening NCBCP’s national programs, enhancing operational efficiency, and executing high-impact initiatives that advance the Coalition’s mission.

Tonya’s professional journey began in the financial sector, where she spent 18 years building a strong foundation in operations, management, and client services. She started as a Transfer of Accounts Manager before transitioning into sales, where she excelled as a Senior Registered Sales Associate. Her success in the corporate world sharpened her expertise in strategic planning, relationship management, and team leadership.

Motivated by a passion for civic engagement and social justice, Tonya transitioned into the nonprofit arena bringing her corporate discipline and organizational expertise to the service of underrepresented communities. Rising through the ranks at NCBCP, she has played a central role in producing the organization’s flagship programs and national gatherings, including the Black Women’s Roundtable and Black Youth Vote initiatives.

Today, Tonya continues to lead with vision and purpose, ensuring NCBCP’s programs and operations run with excellence while empowering communities to participate fully in democracy and advocate for equity and justice.
